The July/August issue of Competitive Intelligence magazine will focus on CTI. If you are interested in writing an article or column on this topic, please let me know. Short pieces on tools or techniques are also welcome.
Thanks, Bonnie

Competitive Technical Intelligence, the fourth book in the CI Foundation’s Topics in CI series, is at the printer and will be shipped shortly. You can order it now for the pre-conference price of $49.95. Edited by Brad Ashton, the 300 page book covers all aspects of competitive technical intelligence (CTI), from supporting product development and early warning to technology mapping. Over 20 CTI experts shared their knowledge to present the most comprehensive overview of CTI practices currently available. Benefit from their experience and learn from the chapter case studies.

Re: Kieran's Congressional Research Service question - I haven't used it for CTI (though I imagine it would be very useful for industry-level information); but I just found that GalleryWatch has an extensive collection of CRS reports, more complete than the public info site Kieran linked to.

They've passed those CRS reports on to EBSCOhost (usually available through your local library's database resources). Announcement: http://newsbreaks.infotoday.com/wndReader.asp?ArticleId=19290

Have any of you used the Congressional Research Service for CTI? Any comments on its usefulness?

You are most welcome!
If you want to have an interesting read, check out the Hungarian Chemical Industry article that I attached to my CTI post. the author, Pat Short (patricia_short@btconnect.com) is based in the UK- London, I think. I tried to get her for Rome but she will be in the States with C&E News (her publication). You might want to get her for a meeting in London. My guess is that she will tell a very good story about competivie insights and successes against very high odds.

It would be great to engage her, perhaps for futher international meetings.
